Nope. Wish I had paid attention to the other posts.
Nope. Another awful internet recipe, eggs were still fully liquid after cooking.
Cooked one egg and it worked perfectly. Thanks
So glad to hear that! Thank you, Eugenia.
I’m so glad you don’t need pants to make hard boiled eggs…..”
(See under “Microwave Advantages”)
Thanks for the giggle. : )
This recipe is awful. My microwave is the same wattage and the eggs were raw after following the recipe exactly.
It exploded.
Love the idea. My stove suddenly stopped working so I searched if I could cook an egg in the microwave and this is the first one I tried. I’m using 1.36 Kw microwave, 6 eggs, 1 tbls sea salt. My eggs were not cooked after the 8-minute cycle, but I persisted and did it until I got perfectly cooked eggs. It took 4 minutes x6 to get there. (So, doing this recipe a total of 3 times).
A side note, unless you have a glass cup in your hotel room and plan on cooking only 1 egg, and can find some salt packets in the hotel, cooking an egg in your hotel room microwave is not realistic. Not sure it should be listed as an “advantage” to cooking eggs this way.
Also, maybe edit, or not, depending on if a laugh is intentional. See if you can find the very funny blunder, “There are no pots or pants needed.”
Following these directions almost caused serious injury. One egg burst during the first 4 minute bake. I cleaned it up and did the second bake, but for 3 minutes. After three minutes, I opened the door to see how things were doing. The water in the dish was still boiling, do I figured that all was well. I closed the microwave door, turned away and took two steps. Suddenly, there was an explosion. The door on the microwave was thrown open and egg debris and boiling water flew across the kitchen, splattering cabinets, stools and floor. Luckily, I was to the side, so it missed me. The whole thing could have exploded in my face with boiling water and sent me to the hospital. Please exercise great caution! I will never cook whole eggs in a microwave again! It’s extremely dangerous, but looks safe!
Did not hard boil my eggs. Microwaved for 4 mins high waited 1 min then another 4 mins high and ice bath but my eggs did not cook through. Wasted 6 eggs. 1100 watt microwave
Same exact thing happened to me
Worked perfectly for me! I only did one egg. No explosion. Not over cooked, not undercooked. Thank you for the hack!
