These are the main ingredients and substitutions for keto waffles. Scroll down to the recipe card for full ingredients list and instructions.
Any type of milk works. For lowest carb, use macadamia nut milk. Both regular and dairy free work well.
Three eggs help bind the waffles together. They also add protein.
Almond flour is a great Keto baking flour. It is higher in protein and lower in carbs than white flour or wheat flour. In addition, almond flour is naturally grain free and gluten free.
Vanilla extract adds a homemade flavor.
Baking powder helps these waffles rise and become crispy.
A little monk fruit sweetener adds a touch of sweetness. Feel free to replace with granulated Swerve sweetener.
Lastly, add in a pinch of sea salt if desired.

For sweetener, use monk fruit sweetener. Monk fruit is a small fruit relative to China. It is calorie free. This granulated sugar option contains zero net carbs. In addition, monk fruit sweetener has a glycemic index of zero.
Taste & Texture
These keto waffles are not overly sweet. They taste like classic waffles with a slightly nutty flavor. The main flavors will be butter and sugar free maple syrup.
They are crispy outside and fluffy inside. To make them extra crispy, toast in the toaster oven for a few minutes.
How to Make
Step 1
First, preheat waffle maker.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine milk and eggs. Whisk to combine.
Step 3
Then, add in all remaining ingredients. Stir to combine.
Step 4
Generously spray waffle maker with nonstick spray. Pour about ½ cup of waffle batter into the waffle maker. Cook according to waffle maker instructions, about 5 minutes.
Step 5
Finally, remove from waffle maker. Spray with nonstick spray and continue this process for remaining batter.

Finally, serve with butter and sugar free maple syrup!
