(GRAIN FREE, GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE, PALEO)

After making an apple cobbler recently, I knew I had to make another one that involved chocolate somehow.  I was such a fan of the apple version but chocolate has my heart.  One of my favorite fruits to pair with chocolate is cherries; this cobbler has that delicious Black Forest flavor.  It’s sweet, a little tart, and so flavorful.  I used frozen cherries in this recipe so it can be made year round.  I hope you love this chocolaty and fruity dessert as much as I do!

Bottom Layer:
4 cups frozen cherries

1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch sea salt
3 TBL tapioca flour
1 tsp lemon juice

Cobbler Topping:
3/4 cup almond flour

Pinch cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup ghee, room temperature
2 TBL almond milk
Pinch sea salt
3 TBL cocoa powder

Make the bottom layer first.  Make sure cherries are already pitted.

Mix frozen cherries with remaining bottom layer ingredients in a bowl.  Pour into a pie dish.

Add all cobbler topping ingredients to a bowl and mix.  Batter should be thick.  Add a splash more almond milk if necessary.

Drop topping in clumps on top of cherry layer.
