It’s not secret by now that pulled pork is one of my favorite dinners.  I love making a big batch on Sunday and having it for leftovers during the week.  I took my original slow cooker pulled pork recipe and put a fun twist on it.  This Apple Cider Pulled Pork is filled with all my favorite flavors.  It has a hint of sweetness and tartness that stands up to the hearty and savory pork flavor.  It’s super easy to make: just add the ingredients to your slow cooker and dinner will be done in 7-8 hours!

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8-9 hours
Total Time: 8-9 hours
Course: Lunch, Dinner
Servings: 8

4 lbs pork shoulder (pork butt works too)
2 cups apple cider
2 TBL olive oil
Sprinkle garlic powder
Sprinkle onion powder
Sprinkle sea salt
Sprinkle pepper
1 bottle BBQ sauce (optional)

Set your slow cooker to low and add apple cider.

Place pork in slow cooker.  Add in olive oil and spices.

Let it cook for about 8 hours.  When meat is falling apart, empty out all the broth except for about ¼ cup of the liquid.

Shred pork with 2 forks right inside the slow cooker.  Add in BBQ sauce if desired.

Ready to serve!
