We love the taste and texture of these brownies. Neither my husband nor I need to be gluten free but I make them GF/DF for family members and friends. My husband prefers these brownies over the regular flour versions I make. Making these on a regular basis now. Also so great for a last minute dessert.
So glad to hear that, Gwenyth! My goal is to make desserts that are enjoyed by everyone – food allergies or not. Thank you for your kind words!
These look delicious! Any chance they could be sweetened with honey or maple syrup? Just add more almond flour?
Hi Sara! This recipe really needs a granulated sugar. I would recommend coconut sugar or date sugar instead of white sugar. Hope this helps!
I’ve made these twice and they are absolutely delicious. No one I serve them to even knows they are GF.
Sooo I might have experienced “pregnancy brain” for the first time because I didn’t realize I forgot to add the butter until they were just about to come out of the oven. My texture ended up way off but the taste was really good. 100% edible even with my mistake and still delicious. Can’t wait to make them again but the right way
Hi Amanda! Wow, I can’t believe they still tasted great – I can’t wait for you to try them again. Thank you for the kind words!
Mine came out to liquidly?? So i added a few minutes and they burned on the top layer?? I use nondairy butter. But i use nondairy butter in all my baking and never had this happen.
Hi Connie! Did you use enough almond flour and sugar? If they are too liquidy, I would imagine there are not enough dry ingredients.
Are they supposed to be cooked thru at the end of the time? Knife didn’t come out clean, which is fine, but please leave a note to explain that. Otherwise, needs a longer baking time.
Hi Amanda! Yes, you may need to add a few more minutes. If the residue on the knife is from melted chocolate chips, that is different than raw brownie batter. They should look set in the middle. They will also set as they cool down. Hope this helps!
This looks so good! What a great way to enjoy a treat while keeping things healthy!
Thank you so much, Suzanne!
The first day after I baked them I didn’t like the texture. Put in freezer and when thawed it was better. My son in law has to eat GF so that is why I tried this recipe. My daughter said they are great and don’t seem GF
