Gluten Free Edible Cookie Dough
Edible cookie dough. Need I say more? Growing up, I made chocolate chip cookies with my mom weekly. She always let me lick the bowl clean and thus my obsession with cookie dough began. This healthy cookie dough is entirely edible and made with only 6 ingredients!
List of Ingredients
This healthy cookie dough uses Paleo baking flour which is made with almond flour, coconut flour, arrowroot flour and tapioca flour. Paleo baking flour is found in grocery stores or on Amazon.
Just a teaspoon of vanilla extract is needed since it adds a pop of flavor that is traditionally found in cookies and cookie dough.
Coconut oil is a great Paleo and Vegan cooking fat. Here, it replaces grass fed butter to keep this dough Vegan and healthy.
Maple syrup is a great refined sugar free option for sweetener. I suggest using a high quality pure maple syrup since a little bit goes a long way!
These dark chocolate chips have a little sugar in them, so they’re technically not completely Paleo but they’re gluten free and dairy free.
Chilling the Dough
After mixing the ingredients together, eat immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat. Place cookie dough in fridge for a firmer result. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
How to Make
First, add baking flour to a microwave safe dish and microwave for one minute, or until flour reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit. This kills off any bacteria.
Next, add all ingredients (except chocolate chips) to a bowl. Then, mix to combine until a dough is formed.
Lastly, fold in dark chocolate chips.
Finally, serve and enjoy!
Variations & Add Ins
This healthy cookie dough can be mixed and matched plenty of ways! Some add-ins include:
- Almonds
- Cashews
- Pecans
- Walnuts
- Mini dark chocolate chips
- Coconut flakes
- Dried cranberries
In conclusion, this cookie dough is a must! Check out this Edible Sugar Cookie Dough for another fun idea.

Just one thing about the cookie dough.. should the flour be cooked off in the oven or microwave to kill any bacteria first.. I’ve been reading about this method recently. Thanks
