(WHOLE30, GRAIN FREE, GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE, PALEO, KETO)

I am SO excited for this recipe!  I am still in disbelief over how easy and how flavorful this Whole30 Thai Basil Steak is.  The whole recipe comes together in under 30 minutes but tastes like it’s been simmering away all day.  The steak is incredibly tender, the veggies add a pop of color and flavor while the sauce is the perfect mix of sweet and savory.  Get ready to fall in love with this Thai basil steak – it’s going on my weekly dinner rotation from here on!

I have included directions below for using both a pressure cooker and a stovetop.  So, what is Thai Basil Steak?  It’s the most tender and flavorful steak, softened peppers, and a flavorful Asian inspired sauce.  Let’s start with the pressure cooker method (hello EASY and hello hands off!).  Add the steak, olive oil, garlic and onion to the pressure cooker pot.  Allow this to sauté for a couple minutes, until the steak is browned on the outside.  Add in the remaining ingredients (except the tapioca flour and green onions) to the pot and secure the lid on top.  Pressure cook on high for only 4 minutes – it sounds to good to be true, but trust me!  Once the timer goes off, allow the pressure cooker to sit for 5 minutes before releasing the pressure manually.  If you want a thicker sauce, remove 1/4 cup of the liquid inside the pot to a small bowl.  Whisk in the tapioca flour until no clumps remain.  Pour this little mixture back into the pressure cooker and stir.  This will thicken the sauce.  Carefully remove contents of pot and serve.  Top with chopped green onions if desired.

The stovetop method is just as simple and easy.  Add the steak, olive oil, garlic and onion to the skillet over medium heat.  Allow the steak to brown on all sides before adding the remaining ingredients (except the tapioca flour and green onions).  Cook on low medium heat for about 7-8 minutes, until the peppers have softened.  If you want a thicker sauce, remove 1/4 cup of the liquid inside the skillet to a small bowl.  Whisk in the tapioca flour until no clumps remain.  Pour this little mixture back into the skillet and stir.  This will thicken the sauce.  Top with green onions and serve.

I’m in awe of the flavors in this dish.  They’re bold and will have you going back for seconds.  I love the varying colors, flavors and textures in this recipe.  You really can’t go wrong with steak and peppers!  I hope you love this as much as I do.  To see more of my favorite pressure cooker recipes, click HERE.  It has revolutionized the way I cook!  This Thai Basil Steak makes the best dinner and even better leftovers!
