(GRAIN FREE, GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE, PALEO)
Not a fan of vegetables? Just add some crispy bacon and maple syrup! These Paleo Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts are the best tasting vegetable dish. There are so many great flavors and textures – from the crispy bacon to the crunchy Brussels and the sweet syrup. Add this as a side dish to chicken, beef, or your favorite protein. I’ve also been known to eat this for breakfast. It’s that good!
HOW TO MAKE PALEO MAPLE BACON BRUSSELS SPROUTS
This recipe is incredibly easy! First, heat a skillet over low medium heat. Add chopped bacon to the skillet and cook until crispy, stirring so it doesn’t burn. Then, remove bacon from pan and discard all but 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease. Add in halved Brussels sprouts and cook until crispy, about 10 to 12 minutes. Lastly, add bacon back to the pan and add maple syrup and dried cranberries. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until completely warmed through. Remove from heat and serve.
WHAT TO EAT WITH BRUSSELS SPROUTS
These Brussels sprouts are packed with a ton of flavor. I typically pair them with grilled or roasted chicken, steak or another form of animal protein. When enjoying them for breakfast, serve alongside some eggs. They are a great side dish since they pair well with so many flavors. I make these every Thanksgiving to eat alongside turkey. No matter how you eat them, you won’t be disappointed!
I turned down vegetables for most of my childhood because they tasted like vegetables. Cooking veggies in a flavorful way totally changes the game. These Brussels sprouts are hearty, savory, a little sweet, and so delicious. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
