Gluten Free Rice Krispies Treats
These gluten free rice krispies treats are such a fun and nostalgic treat! They are gooey, crunchy, chewy, and sweet. This quick and easy recipe is great for an afternoon snack or dessert!
First, line a 9 inch by 9 inch square pan with parchment paper.
In a large skillet or pot, add the butter over low medium heat.
Once the butter has melted, add in the mini marshmallows. Consistently stir until the marshmallows have melted.
Then, turn off the heat. Add in the vanilla extract and rice cereal. Stir until all of the cereal is completely coated in the marshmallow mixture.
Use a spatula to transfer into the prepared pan. Gently pat down into one even layer.
Allow the bars to set for 30 minutes before slicing into. To speed this up, feel free to chill in the fridge.
Finally, use a large sharp knife to carefully cut into bars!
Regular rice krispie cereal is not gluten free because it contains malt.
Be sure to double check that the rice cereal you are using is gluten free.
I love The Real Cereal Company .
Stir until all of the cereal is coated in the marshmallow mixture.
Allow the bars to set before slicing into.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.
