Ingredients

  • ½ cup flour, gluten free 1 to 1 or all purpose
  • 4 tbsp cold butter
  • 4 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch sea salt
  • sprinkles, optional

Instructions

  • First, heat treat flour. Spread flour on a baking pan. Bake for 5 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside to cool.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter and white sugar until no clumps of butter remain.
  • Then, add in all remaining ingredients except sprinkles. Stir to combine.
  • Fold in sprinkles.
  • Finally, serve!

Notes

  • Heat treat flour to remove any harmful bacteria found in raw flour.
  • Although you can microwave flour to heat treat it, I recommend using your oven.  Flour burns easily in the microwave.
  • Both gluten free 1 to 1 flour and all purpose flour can be used.
  • Use cold butter right from the fridge.  This prevents the dough from becoming greasy due to melted butter.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 48 hours.  Allow dough to sit at room temperature fora  few minutes to thaw out before eating.
