Sugar Cookie Bars
Sugar cookie bars are the quick and easy way to enjoy warm, buttery sugar cookie goodness.! This recipe bakes up soft, delicious squares in under 30 minutes - perfect for busy weeknights or whenever cravings hit!
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line an 8 inch square pan with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, add the melted butter and sugar. Stir until creamy and frothy.
Then, add in the vanilla and egg. Stir to combine.
Add in the gluten free flour, milk, and sea salt. Stir until a sugar cookie dough forms.
Press this mixture into an even layer in the lined pan.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are very lightly golden and the middle still looks soft.
Remove from the oven. Once fully cooled, add frosting and sprinkles. Cut into squares and enjoy!
If you are not gluten free, feel free to use the same amount of all purpose flour.
Do not bake too long. The middle will still look a little soft and buttery.
Allow the bars to fully cool before adding the frosting. The frosting will melt otherwise.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
