This Vegan Puppy Chow is such an easy, crispy, and chocolaty snack! It is crunchy and addicting. These gluten free and Vegan muddy buddies are great for a quick and simple snack or dessert!

Ingredients

Instructions 

  • First, add peanut butter, chocolate chips, coconut oil and vanilla extract to a microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave for 30 seconds. Then stir until completely melted, smooth and creamy.
  • Add Chex mix to a large bowl. Pour melted chocolate mixture over Chex mix.
  • Very gently stir until Chex mix are completely coated in chocolate.
  • Add powdered sugar to a large Ziplock bag. Add coated Chex mix into bag with powdered sugar.
  • Close bag and shake until Chex mix is completely coated in powdered sugar.
  • Finally, serve!

Notes

  • Rice Chex mix or corn Chex mix works best and is naturally gluten free!
  • Use peanut butter that is made with only peanuts and salt.  Any added sugars, oils or preservatives will alter the texture.
  • I used this Vitamix Peanut Butter and it worked perfectly!
  • Use Vegan chocolate chips to keep this recipe Vegan.  I use Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips which melt well.
  • Melt peanut butter, chocolate chips, coconut oil and vanilla extract until completely smooth and creamy.  Mine usually takes two 30 second increments.
  • This recipe calls for only 1 cup of powdered sugar which lightly coats the puppy chow.  Feel free to add more if desired.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.  If it's hot outside, I recommend storing in the fridge.
  • This is not safe for dogs or puppies to eat.
