Ingredients

Instructions

  • First, preheat waffle maker.
  • In a mixing bowl, add gluten free flour, sugar and baking powder. Whisk to combine.
  • Then, add in milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla. Stir to combine.
  • Spray waffle maker with nonstick spray. Pour half the batter into the waffle maker. Shut lid and make according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Once waffle has reached desired color, remove from waffle maker.
  • Spray again with nonstick spray and repeat for the remaining batter.
  • Finally, serve with butter and maple syrup!

Notes

  • Use gluten free 1 to 1 flour.  King Arthur Flour and Bob's Red Mill are my two favorite brands.
  • These waffles are not very sweet.  The maple syrup on top adds sweetness.  For a sweeter waffle, add another tablespoon sugar.
  • The waffle batter will be pretty thin.
  • Be sure to spray waffle maker.  Even though mine is nonstick, I always spray it.  This makes removal super easy.
  • I usually add 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time to the manufacturer's instructions.  This creates a more crispy waffle.
  • These waffles are best eaten day of.
  • While they can be made ahead and frozen, the texture is not quite as good.
  • To make them dairy free, use dairy free milk and dairy free butter.
