Ingredients

Instructions

  • First, pat steaks dry with paper towels. Season on both sides with black pepper, salt, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder.
  • Add oil to a skillet over medium high heat. Once oil gets hot, place steaks in skillet.
  • Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on the first side. Then carefully flip and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on the other side.
  • Next, carefully remove steaks from skillet. Allow steaks to rest on a plate for at least 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
  • Finally, serve with chopped fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh grass fed steak if possible.
  • If you only have frozen, thaw completely.
  • Be generous with your seasoning.  Feel free to adjust amounts to suit your preference.
  • Allow the oil to get hot before adding steaks.
  • Only 2 to 3 minutes on each side is needed for 1 inch steak for medium rare.
  • See blog post above for other temperatures and cooking times.
  • Allowing the steaks to rest before serving helps lock in the juices.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
