1). I used a mix of 1lb ground beef, 1lb ground pork, and 1lb ground pork sausage
2) accidently, I was out of tomato sauce, so I used a jar of Rao’s Marinara sauce from Costco.
Everything else was just as outlined in the recipe.

Long story short, EVERYONE raved about it! I’ve added it to my recipe box and will make it again! …and again!5 stars

I had planned to use ground turkey since I rarely eat red meat but apparently all I had was ground chicken and it still worked great. I like my chili a little hotter so I added more cayenne and chili powder and then added about a tbsp of cocoa powder for a deeper flavor. I also added some minced garlic with the onion, pepper and spices at the beginning. I let it simmer on the stove for about 4 hours to really meld the flavors together and it turned out fantastic!5 stars
